Well, that explains why I can't get them to respond to my problem with my DSL router. (It died on Friday. They sent me a new one, but it appears to be misconfigured. They're not responding to mail. Evidently they're busy.)
DOH. It shouldn't be too hard to reconfigure the router. Is it the crappy ZyXel?
This is the first time meer has had a major outage in quite sometime. And from teh last email, neither SBC or MCI wants to admit to being at fault on the DS3 downtime. Which sounds pretty normal to me.
It's the ZoomADSL Modem/Router. They replaced a 5554 with (I think; it's not in front of me) a 5554A. All well and good (though I liked that the 5554 had an actual unix shell on it if you telnet'ed in). The problem is the ADSL link is set correctly (getting link), but I *think* Meer uses PPPoE (I vaguely recall it doing so) and the modem came set to use 1483 Routed IP LLC. Net result is that ADSL is showing good link, but routing and authentication aren't up. I'd copy the info off my old router, but, you know, broken.
Hmm. My system doesn't use PPPoE, but I may have a different setup than you; but I think I'm using the 1483 setup. Um, G.Dmt is in my memory, but it's been awhile since I've had to muck with it now.

I'm beginning to wish I'd gone with Speakeasy.
