If it weren't past midnight and I weren't feeling the onset of that cold I had last month trying to resurge, there might be something interesting here. But there isn't. If this disappoints you, then get used to it -- I've never been good at journalling.
How do businesses survive when they are jerks to their customers? I really don't understand that. Are people *so* sheep-like that they will continue to do business with people that obviously don't care?

I mean, we went looking for flowers for the wedding today. The first florist we go to says "I can't help you right now" (understandable, it's Mother's Day weekend and they're swamped) but call me and we'll do a consultation. That'll cost $35. $35 to tell us what you can do for us? C'mon. That's part of the sales, isn't it? I have to pay you to find out what you can sell me? And we got a basic price sheet. Wowsers. I hope not everyone is that pricy. Not only do we have to pay to see what they can sell us, we have to pay a premium to get it. I don't know much about flowers, but I know a simple dozen roses bouquet isn't $100 at most places.

So we go to a second florist. Similar story--to busy to help us now--but he actually seems enthusiastic about helping us out when he has some time. He spends more time with us than he seems to really need to today, and there isn't any chat about charging us for the first consultation. He definitely wins on attitude. The other one loses. Though we didn't get a price sheet, so we still dunno what he'll charge us.
