Today I actually got a contract together for CivicSpace, and started some work for one of their clients. Good stuff so far, happy to be doing it, and I actually know what I'm getting paid now. It's a slight pay cut, but it's hourly and I will potentially have a lot of hours, which could end up a pay increase. Though too many hours for too long could really suck.
On the other side of the coin, if you're interested in that experience, I set up a blog dedicated to that side of things; I didn't want to put it on my LiveJournal, and ehalseymiles is pretty specific to writing, and not coding, so...angry donuts (
angry_donuts) it is.
Once I figured out how much of a commitment CivicSpace needed, I immediately turned around and said no to another contract, because the deadline was too soon and I don't think there's any way I could possibly do it. That was kind of sad, as it looked like an interesting project, but I've got too many of them on my plate. Fun fun.
