As usual the mid-week updates are sparse due to the business that surrounds
starting on Monday. It went like this:
Monday night: EQ grouping. We've been pretty uneven about grouping due to the wedding, but we did finally get together and get things done. It took an hour longer than usual to set up because the servers were not letting everyone in right away. Very weird issues, and when they cleared up they did so rather suddenly. City of Mist was ok for xp and lousy for loot, so I doubt we'll stay there very long. Dinner was a stir fry that didn't come out so well primarily because I over steamed the vegetables beforehand, so they were all limp and overdone. The water content meant they picked up no flavor from the sauce.
Tuesday: Started a new Neverwinter Nights character. I liked my cleric but I didn't really feel comfortable with how his feats had been placed, so I decided to make a dwarven rogue/fighter. He kicks a great deal of butt, I must say.
Then went to Neutral Ground and played in the weekly Warhammer 40kccg tournaments. Despite only coming in 9 of 14, I won a *very* cool card (2nd best chaos rare of the new set, imo) and was able to trade for 2 more of that card because everyone else seems to under rate it. Came home, couldn't sleep, so did some deck fiddling and didn't get to sleep until 3-3:30.
Yesterday I lazed around all day feeling pretty awful for getting to sleep so late. I did eventually manage to get off my butt, do some of the dishes that needed doing, and cooked dinner. Chatty picked up some salmon from Cook's, and I made roasted salmon in butter (with fresh dill), mashed potatoes, corn on the cob and some asparagus. I forgot to roast the garlic for the potatoes, so I used powdered garlic which works but is never as good, and I didn't have time to toss the asparagus in butter like I wanted. Time was short because we had to get to Williams-Sonoma to return a couple of duplicate gifts. (I must thank people, they are wonderful gifts, but there's little need for multiple kitchen torches and baking stones =). So instead we got a probe thermometer and a 12 quart "multi-pot" which is exactly like the 8 quart one we already have, but bigger.
And today I'm going to pick up Indy (Chatty's girlfriend who lives in St. Louis right now) from the airport in just about an hour.
