Pet peeve time.
I really hate--especially on MUSH, but on livejournal as well--when people put up a URL and don't take the 15 seconds to put a few words about what the hell the URL is. Why should I click on it?
Maybe it's because I'm so tired of the 99.5% crap that's on the WWW, but partly because I know that I'm not interested in all the things all my friends are interested in all the time. It's only a couple of words to say what it's about. Really.

I hate the spam on MUSHes, see, and it's easier for me to follow the link and dismiss or read than it is to find the link-poster's description in the midst of all the other babbling that, quite frankly, -- oh nevermind. I'm being uncharitable :)
Anyway, I see your point.
