The urine test came back that he has a little blood in his urine, indicating either infection or inflammation in his bladder. Not knowing which it is until the culture comes back, which won't be until next week, he's getting an antibiotic in case it's an infection since it shouldn't go untreated any longer than it already has.

He also has an elevated enzyme count in his liver which could be a result of the inflammation, but they want to keep an eye on it so he has to go back in next month for another test.

Urf. I hope it's something easily (albeit painfully) treatable like mineral deposits in the kidneys (and bladder and urethra) -- kitty kidney stones, basically. Owen spend several months developing those, and his peeing (and overall) behavious got worse and worse, until finally I took him in for treatment (twice, alas). After he got the deposits removed and his food changed, his personality improved dramatically.

And I'm hoping that there are causes other than physical damage from getting the snot beat out of him by Jake. :/

I hope it helps and Elwood feels better. Poor kitty! Keaton used to pee in random places, but that's because he had bad kidney disease. Good thing you took Elwood in. (In addition to it being really unpleasant for you!)

The kittens are doing ok - wild and loving as usual. I'm not sure how long my roommate will be able to stand them, but I suspect they can stay for a couple days.

I'm sorry to hear that Elwood is in distress. I'm glad you took him to the vet though, and I hope it turns out to be something routine and completely treatable. Give the guy a scritch for me if he lets you get close enough. Oh, and give that wife of yours a hug for me, while you're at it.
