Holy Crap [Star Trek: Nemesis]

Star Trek: Nemesis was a bad, bad movie.

It was as bad as Insurrection. I'm astonished at how horrifyingly bad it was.

(Yes, I know, I'm way behind on this one, but it was on cable and I figured I should be a completist about the ST movies).

I still maintain that 6 was the last of the tolerably decent ones. Though rumor has it that a certain common former roommate actually enjoyed Nemesis, but I'll let him step up to that admission.

Last night I found myself going over the movie in my head looking for redeeming points. I found very few.

The script was *horrific*. Some of the backplot was theoretically possibly interesting, but was ruined by some of the worst writing I've ever seen in a Trek film.

That's where I caught it the first time as well. I can state for the record that it's better at 1am witn no sound from a distance of 15' on a 14" screen.

I'll buy that. Much of the effects were pretty.

When you have sound you realize that they were there simply to be there. They didn't help the plot at all.
