I am astonished that there's anyone left who likes the original series more than the new one. The new series is hardly perfect (water? scarce? in space?), but it's far far more interesting, I'm enjoying the cylons hugely, and the inevitable nitpicks and errors are at least counterbalanced by the odd technical point that they get right, like their engine wear in atmospheric operations being much higher because they have to run the engines all the time, unlike in space ops. Add to that the main characters being very well done, particularly the President, and I'll keep watching.
Friday nights are such fun now. Stargate SG-1 seems to be clicking again as of this past week's episode, Atlantis is perfectly watchable, and BG has exceeded my (originally somewhat low) expectations.

Date: 2005-02-14 04:39 am (UTC)I remembered her acting as being pretty good.
I remembered wrong.
Lorne Greene's acting was actually pretty good. A number of people were stuck with some really, really bad dialog.
The script was...oh so very, very bad.
