I don't usually post Drupal things to this blog, but I'm pretty pleased about this one and I want to announce it in a channel where a few people who don't read my Drupal oriented blog will see it.
Today we made the Drupal Association official. The Drupal Association is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the infrastructure, raising funds and providing marketing for the open source content management platform called Drupal. (Or in English, it's a website toolkit). I get to be known as a founding member of the organization, which to me is a great honor, and I'm extremely pleased to be a part of this effort, even though I took a much smaller role than many of the people at the head of it.
I believe this marks a new era for Drupal; having an official organization will almost certainly change how Drupal progresses, and I am sure it will be for the better.
