In reference to My comments on the NFL Good Behavior Policies

Sam Brandon, a backup safety for the Broncos, just received a 2 game suspension for the first 2 games in 2007.

For arrests for domestic violence in 2004 and 2005.

The charges in 2004 have already been dismissed. I don't know anything about the charges in 2005.

So if the Patriots are playing, say, the Colts in a big game... I could hire some chick in Indy to make some kind of plausible accusation against on one of their key players, right? I mean, as long is it was plausible enough for there to be any sort of investigation, he'd get immediately suspended, right?

And if I'm thinking this, I guarantee you that there are bookies and gamblers thinking about this, too.

I don't think it'd be immediate, so you'd have to find a way to time it right. I mean, this one is for transgressions from 2 and 3 years ago. On the other hand, as we move forward it probably will be more quick, once they've finished going through whatever backlog they're going to go through.
