Bah, Showtime canceled my favorite show ever.

Not that these online petitions ever do any good, but here it is:

Of course They cancelled it. It was a smart show, and I liked it. And while it was funny, it wasn't of-course-it's-funny-can't-you-hear-the-laugh-track funny.

augh, laugh tracks.

Sports Night had a laugh track for the first 6 episodes or so, and it was so horribly jarring.

Laugh tracks only work on shows that have that stage-set look.

Sports Night had long scenes that twisted through hallways and very mobile cameras. There was clearly no audience.

But hey, a smart, funny show that was canceled. Go fig.

I don't think laugh tracks work at all, at least not for me. I hate them. Just like I hate "reaction" shots -- footage of live audiences laughing, often shown in stand-up comedian shows.
